Summer Engagement Session, Bob and Katrina

Sunset sessions are like no other in Salmon, Idaho.

These two are planning a 2024 wedding and I am so stoked for them and to be on this wedding journey with them! Their engagement session was so much fun. Katrina told me they have never had photos taken together, other than a good selfie. So like any normal person and couple they were a little nervous and didn't know what to expect.

Like I said, that is normal. So many people are nervous at the beginning of sessions whether they have done it before or not. It truly is a process and a goal of mine is to make you both feel comfortable. When you feel comfortable it will help you relax in front of the camera.

One thing you should not forget for your session - BUG SPRAY. Yes, nasty stinky bug spray. The mosquitoes were eating Bob alive throughout the session. The whole session. I also didn't wear bug spray I have a "go for it" approach but Bob was certainly the target.  If it wasn't the mosquitoes it was the fire ants attacking Katrina.

When they weren't getting eaten alive I made them pose and guided them through some ideas I had. They did great and I think we got some really great photos of them.

We walked all over and as I was telling them what to do or ideas, I wanted Bob and Katrina to dance, more just a twirl. She had on a cute flowy dress that would work great but Bob felt a little left out so he did his own little twirl as well. (See pics below and a link to their Reel).

Summer sessions are so much fun, and I really love the trees and greenery with the mixture of a big open sky, best of both worlds really and the location worked really well for the night. We were really lucky with some cloud formations and no smoke. I was worried it would be smokey which totally defeats the purpose of a sunset session.

It was so hard to choose sneak peeks of them, I love so many of them I finally had to stop looking through them and just go with what I had already picked out. While these two are ahead of the game for their 2024 wedding I included some links to a wedding checklist and more for future couples!

The Importance of Pre-Planning Your Wedding: A Recipe for a Perfect Day

Your wedding day is a momentous occasion filled with love, joy, and celebration. It marks the beginning of a beautiful journey with your partner, and it's only natural that you want it to be nothing short of perfect. While the idea of planning a wedding can be overwhelming, the key to a successful and stress-free event lies in one simple word: pre-planning. In this blog, we'll explore the significance of pre-planning your wedding and how it can lead to the day of your dreams.

Time to Create Your Dream Vision

Pre-planning your wedding gives you the precious gift of time. By starting the process early, you have ample opportunity to envision what your perfect day looks like. Whether you dream of an elegant ballroom affair or a whimsical garden gathering, having more time allows you to explore different themes, venues, and ideas, ultimately bringing your vision to life.

Securing Preferred Venues and Vendors

Venues and vendors often get booked well in advance, especially during the peak wedding season. Pre-planning your wedding allows you to secure your preferred choices without settling for second-best. Whether it's the fairy-tale castle you've always dreamed of or the perfect photographer whose style resonates with you, booking early ensures that you get the best of the best.

Managing Budgets Effectively

Weddings can be expensive, and costs can quickly spiral out of control if not managed carefully. By pre-planning your wedding, you give yourself the opportunity to create a realistic budget and stick to it. You can research and compare prices, negotiate with vendors, and make informed decisions to avoid last-minute financial surprises.

Minimizing Stress and Anxiety

Wedding planning can be an emotional rollercoaster, and stress is a common companion for many couples. By starting early, you can break down the tasks into manageable chunks, avoiding the frantic rush of last-minute planning. A well-organized wedding timeline can help reduce stress and ensure that every aspect of your big day is well thought out and executed seamlessly.

Tailoring Your Guest List

Creating the guest list is a delicate task, and it requires time and consideration. Pre-planning your wedding allows you to carefully curate the guest list, ensuring that you invite the most important people in your lives. You'll also have ample time to send out save-the-dates and invitations, increasing the chances of your loved ones being able to attend your special day.

Personalization and Creativity

A pre-planned wedding provides you with the opportunity to infuse your personalities into every aspect of the event. From custom-designed invitations to unique wedding favors, you can add personal touches that make your wedding truly yours.

Your wedding day is a reflection of your love and commitment to one another. Pre-planning this special occasion grants you the luxury of time, the ability to make well-informed decisions, and the chance to create a day that perfectly encapsulates your love story. From your dream venue and ideal vendors to a well-thought-out guest list, each element plays a significant role in making your wedding unforgettable. So, take a deep breath, start planning early, and embark on the beautiful journey of creating the wedding of your dreams.
