Golden Hour Series: Because Summer Light Doesn’t Last Forever
There are only 18 summers.
That’s what they say about raising kids—and I feel it in my bones more and more each year. One day, they’re chasing butterflies barefoot through the yard. The next, they’re running toward bigger things—friends, sports, dreams, college.
But in between those milestones, we get the in-between moments.
Golden ones.
Unscripted ones.
The ones we want to hold onto forever.
As a family photographer in Salmon, Idaho, I created the Golden Hour Series because I believe in honoring those fleeting chapters. These are sunset photo sessions designed to capture your people just as they are—playful, real, messy, beautiful, and absolutely yours.
What is the Golden Hour Collective?
The Golden Hour Collective is a limited set of summer evening sessions held during that dreamy stretch of sunlight just before the sun dips below the mountains. You know the one—the sky turns warm and everything around you glows.
These summer family photo sessions aren’t about stiff poses or forced smiles. They’re about connection.
Laughing together.
Holding hands.
Watching the way your toddler’s hair catches the light.
Feeling your partner’s arms around you.
They’re about what summer feels like—not just what it looks like.
Why Summer? Why Now?
Because summer has a heartbeat of its own.
It’s slower. Softer. Messier.
And full of tiny moments that sneak past us if we’re not paying attention.
I know how it goes—life gets busy. We’re behind the camera, holding the snacks, wiping the tears, packing the towels, making the memories… but rarely in the photos ourselves.
This is your invitation to be seen.
To be part of the story.
To create something that will last long after the ice cream melts and the kids outgrow their floaties.
