A Bittersweet Goodbye and a Beautiful Beginning: Chloe’s Maternity Session
Oh, Chloe…
What a beauty, right?
This maternity session was incredibly special for so many reasons—but also bittersweet. It was my final session with Chloe before she moves out of state. While I’m so thrilled for her next chapter, my heart aches just a bit knowing she won’t be in front of my camera anytime soon.
I’ve been photographing Chloe for years now—alongside her best friend Maddie. I still remember those first photo sessions when they were in middle school. Full of laughter, big dreams, and youthful energy. To watch Chloe grow into this beautiful, strong, glowing woman—and now an expectant mother—has been nothing short of a gift. As a Salmon Idaho Photographer, moments like these remind me why I do what I do.
When Chloe asked me to capture this maternity session before she left, I couldn’t have been more honored. Her baby bump had just started to round into that adorable, unmistakable baby belly, and we knew we had to take advantage of the timing.
As always, Chloe had a vision.
We chatted about location and wardrobe, and she knew she wanted a soft, natural setting—a space that felt peaceful and timeless. She had her heart set on a willow tree, and as luck would have it, we found the perfect one. The weather looked like it might turn stormy on us, but in true Idaho fashion, the clouds cleared just in time and gave us that soft, moody light that photographers dream of.
She wore a flowy skirt that added movement and elegance to each frame. We played around with light, texture, and shape—letting the wind gently lift the fabric while Chloe cradled her belly with love and anticipation.
There’s something so powerful about maternity photography. It’s not just about documenting a bump—it’s about honoring the transformation, the anticipation, the sacredness of motherhood. As an Idaho Maternity Photographer, I always strive to create images that tell that story with authenticity and heart.
Chloe is one of those people who brings such a calm, genuine energy to every session. She’s thoughtful, grounded, and real—and photographing her always feels like spending time with an old friend. This session was no different. We laughed, reminisced, and talked about what’s ahead for her as she prepares to welcome her baby into the world.
It’s moments like these that make my job feel like a calling. Getting to be part of someone’s story—again and again—is the greatest privilege.
Chloe, thank you for trusting me with so many seasons of your life. I can’t wait to see you bloom in this new role as a mother, and I hope one day we’ll get to create magic together again—even if it means a little road trip to your new home.
Until then… I’ll be rooting for you, always.
