It was such a joy to reconnect with the Penner family this summer. Emery and Beth were back in Salmon for a visit, and I was thrilled when they reached out to schedule updated family photos. It's been a few years since our last session together, and so much has changed since then. Life has taken them to another state, and as we all know, getting the whole family together in one place only becomes more meaningful as the years go by.
We met for a bright and peaceful morning session, and everything about the day just felt easy and beautiful. The light was soft, the weather kind, and the Penner family's warmth and closeness made for such a special time.
Watching the kids grow has been a privilege. Jake is officially an adult now, something I could hardly believe as I photographed him! It seems like I just took senior photos of him last year. Ale is navigating school with grace and confidence, and the younger girls… well, they’ve grown into their personalities in such a fun way since I saw them last. They’ve gone from littles to lovely young ladies in what feels like the blink of an eye.
There’s something incredibly meaningful about pausing to capture a season like this especially when your children are growing into their own lives. These are the moments that sneak by in the busy everyday, and yet they hold so much heart. When a family makes time for photos during a visit home, it reminds me just how precious these gatherings are. The laughter, the hugs, the in-between moments that reflect years of love and shared history that’s what makes these sessions so special.
Thank you, Penner family, for trusting me again to tell a small part of your story. It means the world to witness your connection and joy and to preserve it through these images.
