I love meeting new families especially from outside of Salmon. 

I have to be honest, I have lived in Salmon for the majority of my life and if you live in Salmon or a small town you know what I am talking about here but: At some point you just know everyone. For most of my life I have been able to walk into Saveway and pretty much name each person or at least something about them. You know I'm right. So when I get someone OUTSIDE of Salmon plus they travel HERE it is like a win/win for me and Salmon. 

The Pierson family is from Challis, so not to far but far enough! They traveled to Salmon for their family session along with Erin's mother, who had just moved to Challis from Wyoming. 

I was hoping more of the recent snow fall would have stayed but we had the most beautiful winter day prior so of course the day of the session it was more gloomy and overcast, perfect session weather. 

Any winter session poses more issues than a "normal" family during warmer months. I think the hardest part for family session during the winter is the cold. This may be an obvious answer but when families book winter sessions the cold is a huge factor for little ones. 

Erin did a great job of dressing the children for the cold - which is a hard job honestly. Finding CUTE matching winter gear? Is that even possible? I LOVED Sydney's little red peacoat, plus her black mittens to was so perfect. 

Like any family session in the winter, we have to work fast before little noses get too red and small hands get too cold. There is a small window of time between happy to be there and realize this may have been a ploy to smile at a camera. And grandma was such a big help! 

I really love these sneak peeks of the Pierson family! It was great to meet them!
