Senior Sessions Along the Salmon River — Featuring Roland from Salmon High School
Senior year is such a big deal—it’s the last hurrah of high school, the bridge to adulthood, and a time when teens are discovering who they are and where they’re headed next. Capturing this chapter is more than just taking pictures. It’s about telling a story—your story. As a longtime Idaho senior photographer and proud local of Salmon, I get to create photo sessions that are full of personality, laughter, and a little East Idaho adventure.
Recently, I had the honor of photographing Roland, a senior at Salmon High School, and his session was everything I love about senior portraits: relaxed, fun, personal, and set against the stunning backdrop of the Salmon River. Roland brought his quiet confidence and easygoing nature, and we leaned into that natural vibe throughout the entire shoot. He's such a cool kid.
We explored some of my favorite riverside spots, where the warm sunlight and flowing water added a timeless feel to every image. Roland chose a few outfits that reflected his style, and the mix of trees, water, and open sky gave us the perfect balance of classic and bold. His laid-back attitude and genuine smile made the whole session feel like we were just hanging out by the river—no pressure, no stiff poses, just real moments.
That’s what I strive for in every session with Bellanet Photography. I want teens to feel seen and celebrated—not just for what they’ve accomplished, but for who they are. Senior sessions aren’t just about marking a moment in time—they’re about honoring growth, identity, and the exciting future ahead.
Whether you’re a local to Salmon, like Roland, or traveling across East Idaho to find that perfect mix of mountains, water, and wide-open space, the Salmon River delivers something truly special. And so does your story.
If you're looking for an East Idaho photographer who knows how to make teens feel comfortable, confident, and authentically themselves, I’d love to work with you. Bring your boots, your hat, your letterman jacket—or just yourself—and let’s create photos that reflect who you are right now.
