Top Salmon Idaho Wedding Venues

Top East Idaho Wedding Venues of 2024 by an East Idaho Wedding Photographer

Here I am again, the start of another great year hear to share all my wedding knowledge from 2023 and my nine plus years as a wedding photographer!

If you are planning a wedding in Lemhi County, WELCOME! There is a reason why you chose Salmon and Lemhi County as your wedding destination - it is gorgeous, intimate and we do have some of the most friendly people here, really. But did I mention Salmon is BEAUTIFUL? That is why a lot of couples choose Salmon as their destination wedding location. Getting married in Salmon, Idaho is a great choice!

I have met couples that chose Salmon after a road trip or rafting trip and some who just randomly chose Salmon - yes, randomly. No matter why or how you choose Salmon - we are so happy you did. We have some of the best Idaho wedding vendors nestled into this friendly little town.

If you are from Salmon or live here, you may have a good idea of where you want to exchange your vows but if you are planning a destination here are some of my favorite venues as a wedding photographer. I put together a list of my personal favorites and why they made the list.

These are my favorite places for wedding through pure experience and that's why I love sharing my ideas and tips from actual experience as an Idaho Wedding Photographer. In the past 10 years I have photographed weddings in barns, atop mountains, in open fields, churches - nearly everywhere you can have a wedding at this point.

• Sweet Water Hollow, Salmon, Idaho Wedding Venue

Sweet Water Hollow makes the list again. This is an all-in-one location that offers a lot in one place. This cozy spot has a stage, a kitchen, is near the river and a nice open and cozy spot right in city limits. I have done quite a few weddings here and I am amazed how different it is every single time. One thing I really love about this location is, Amy, the owner maintains it beautifully with wild flowers. It is right in town so easy to get to and near local hotels and AirBnBs.

I have seen a lot of different weddings at this location, one with yard games everywhere. The couple had at least 12 yard games to play, and it was great! I have seen a taco truck and a wood fire pizza trailer - everything.

This top-notch Idaho wedding venue is a prime spot in Salmon, Idaho for your big day. You will fall in love with the stage, the kitchen, the fact you're next to the river and all the wildflowers in the summer are to die for. It truly is a hidden gem right here in Salmon. As an East Idaho Wedding Photographer, I have seen my fair share of weddings at this venue and it never disappoints. Ever.

This is perfect for weekend long weddings, a destination location since it's so easily accessible near town and lodging close by for visiting guests.

• Younger Cove, Salmon Idaho Wedding Venue

I have photographed a few weddings at this location now, two in 2023 and it has been AMAZING. If you are planning a later summer, fall wedding this location is going to give you those dreamy sunset photos. Weather permitting of course.

In addition to the amazing LIGHT I love at this location as a wedding photographer, this location has some stunning views, is open with a clear view of the cliffs. This location has a built bar, dance floor and lots of space. This is outdoor venue/location. There is a small foot bridge to the ceremony "spot." There is so beautiful.

• Phillips Property, Salmon Idaho Wedding Venue

This under-rated property is really under used because not enough people know about it! It is such a gorgeous location located on Diamond Creek Road, this property is right on the Salmon River and is full of cotton wood trees.

It has a small foot bridge crossing to the property with a bar ready for you to utilize. There is plenty of room for food, DJ booth and dance floor and even having the ceremony on the other side. Really a beautiful piece of land. Lots of room for a bigger wedding.

• Twin Peaks Guest Ranch, Salmon Idaho Wedding Venue

If you are looking for one central location, this may be it! Twin Peaks Guest Ranch is 670 acres of peace and quiet. The isolated location is great for your getaway with your loved ones. There are plenty of cabins on the property so you can host family there on location. There is a main lodge cabin with a kitchen and lots of space with some AMAZING views.

The guest ranch is just that, a guest ranch there is a lot to do here - hiking, near the river, corrals and more. This a must-see on your tour of venues. This is a unique Idaho wedding venue. The natural beauty of this location will have you wanting to move here. You are nestled in-between mountains with limited phone service - a true getaway.

MUST GO TOS:
Odd Fellows Bakery, their fresh wood-fired oven breads and pastries and the best ever. Everything there is so good, you can't go wrong. They also offer soup and house-roasted coffee. My favorite are their breakfast sandwiches. My order: croissant, ham, aioli, tomato, avocado and onion plus it comes with two steamed eggs on it. So delicious, worth every single penny.

Junkyard Bistro, this little "hole" in the wall restaurant will blow your mind. Really. They serve some delicious dishes (also offering catering) that are unique and not your average restaurant. They are so good, they are rated in Yelp's Top 10 restaurants, overall. Yeah. Make sure you stop there.
